Color Run 2013

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I last posted something in here. Got some other priorities but I am glad I am back with something colorful.  I had the privileged to join the Color Run 2013 in Singapore held last Sunday, July 18 at Sentosa.  But let me share a story on how I got to join.

The first time I saw the ad at Facebook, I wanted to join because as you all know, I am a big fan of colors.(Yeah, my blog title shows..lol ) But for some reasons, I did not register. Actually, I was filtering my activities and this is one of those I considered as "this is fun, but its OK if I'll miss it." Life goes on. But it did not stop there. A friend offered me to take her slot but I refused.  (got to work on receiving issues on my heart). Couple of days before the event, another friend announced that someone cannot make it to the event and so the slot is open! This time, I said yes and accepted it.

Prior to taking the slot, I was telling God that I am OK with going church on a Sunday, hearing my favorite pastor preached about grace (*wink *wink). It was enough for me. But God is soooooo good and aware of what's inside my heart. He knows that I love colors and that I would enjoy the happiest and craziest 5k in my life.

Runaway Bride

Oooooops.  I am not going to make a movie review on Julia Robert's  "Runaway Bride", though I really like that film.  I am blogging about the danger of running away from something you know you were called to do and from being someone you were called to be.  I came up with this blog post because I see myself exactly on the same spot where I told God "NO" and how I realized it was a total waste of time to really run away from God.  

I got reminded of the story of Jonah who run away from where God wants him to be and refused to do what God has called him to do.  It only brought disaster to him and to the people around him.  Sometimes pain and disaster has its way of bringing us back to the right track and come to our senses. "'Yung tipong kailangan pang masaktan, bago sumunod." 

But the best thing is that when we are ready and decided to come back, God will embrace us in spite of our disobedience. The parable of the prodigal son is a beautiful picture of the Father's heart to His children.  Amazing, isn't it? No condemnation from the Father, rather a big celebration to His son who got lost but was found. 

No more running, Chel. Run no more.

Blogging Break

Hello everyone! How's everyone doing? Its been a while since I last posted something here on my small yet colorful world. Something went wrong with my phone and so was with the laptop. Any wild guess what's into my heart lately? It's cooking. Taking a break on blogging and giving way to frying pan, bowl, knife,   chopping board etc. etc. 

That sweet, gentle voice that says.....

Someone whom I am in a relationship with tells me in a sweet, gentle voice --- "Be a Woman" and though it was spoken without being harsh and rude, there was kind of a resistance, as always in my mind. I am not the "womanly" type kind of person, it feels like I'm weak and I just felt that I will be catching attention from men if I act like a woman (and I don't like it!).

"Well,  I have called you to be a woman, with a gentle and quiet spirit. I desire that you rise up and be beautiful, not in the world's way but according to what I perceived is beautiful."

How's that possible when I am used to being in control, fierce and childlike at times? 

"My grace which is sufficient will work that "Woman" thing in you. My grace will make you the woman that I called you to be."

(The person that comes to my mind while blogging about this subject is Princess Kate. Isn't she beautiful?)

A much better running area

Tada! This will be my official running / jogging area as of today. Its better and bigger! The ground even shows the distance that you have run. Yey! I saw men trimming the grass as if the place is really being prepared for me. Thank you Lord for once again touching my heart. ❤

Officially a black woman!

A lot of people have noticed that I am getting darker. Wahhhhhhhh, they're right because of uneven skin tone all over my body due to swimming. I just hope that it will pay-off, at least I will learn one swimming stroke, proper diving and treading the water.

By the way, my sneezing and allergy attacks have lessened since I started swimming. (that some good news!)

Officially, I am a black woman! But in my thought "I am just getting ready for the summer." (pampalubag-loob, haha)

Music and I

I had my guitar repaired due to the cracks behind which I found out several days ago. I am not sure if it was my niece's fault or it bumped into something but I am grateful that I am back with singing and strumming.

Fashion Picks: Nylon Bags

This bag is perfect for wet clothes after going into swimming. I like its color and the wordings that says "CLOTHES". The fabric is made up of nylon so its water-proof, strong and difficult to tear. Instead of bringing plastics, nylon bag is more classy yet simple and would make your clothes more organized inside your bag.

There is something about writing that excites me. I feel like every part of me rejoices when I put ideas and thoughts into writing.

Hypersensitive

We went to see a physician to check on my allergies. I was told that my body is too sensitive that's why it was reacting so badly to allergens. A nasal spray was prescribed to get rid and blocked the allergens.

Are you sensitive? What medicine are you taking?

Day 346: Longest tooth cleaning ever!!

I visited a different clinic to have my teeth cleaned. I was not expecting that it would take that long and painful. Ang sakit sa panga! But it was all worth in the end. Sarap ng feeling :)

Day 337: "An orange a day keeps the virus away."

Eat orange a day for more vitamin C to beat my allergies.

Day 320: Did you know that...

Did you know that before flying to Singapore I worked as a call center agent for 2 years in Ortigas, Manila. My world literally was changed upside down because I started working when most people are already sleeping. Haha.

Day 313: I hate taking medicines.

I hate taking medicines -  even a simple paracetamol to complex antibiotics, I don't know but it feels like I am very weak when taking medicines. I was sick for the past few days and I have no choice but to take them.

Day 315: Favorite Childhood Series.

What was your favorite childhood movies/series?

I grew up with all these childhood series - Power Rangers, Voltes V, Daimos, Bioman, Ultraman, Magmaman, X-Men etc.  Seeing my nephews and niece enjoying these shows reminds me of my childhood. Back then, my cousins and I would fight and re-enact what happened, pretend that we also have super powers that can save the world from danger. How crazy, but fun though!

Day 314: Music & Me.

Music brings positivity and energy in me, again I am not a pro, this is some kind of a hobby and this means a lot to me.

Day 302: How do I look like at home?

Day 295: To WAIT again.

Psalm 62:1  I WAIT quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him.

How's my attitude while waiting on God? Am I grumbling, complaining, murmuring and have a grumpy attitude? God is Faithful. In this season, God wants me to seek Him more in my life.  Seeking Him and spending time in His presence is His way of capturing my heart so my eyes will be fixed on the GIVER and not on the GIFTS. Wait and seek Him.

Day 292: I am His Princess.

My niece's artwork in school reminds me that I am His Princess and the words from the Bible are not just information but love letters from my King.

"Princess Treat" from my King. Free dinner from friends, prayer, encouragement, stories, chit-chat in a great place and colourful lanterns at the background. Yay!

Day 291: "Let's try this on!"

My sister and I has this "weird" habit of fitting clothes. Haha. Everytime we buy a new piece of clothing, we will mix and match it with bags, shoes and accessories. One of the good things about having a sister is you can share clothes and all other stuffs. Yey!

This bag which she bought is OFFICIALLY MINE! Haha. The bag is soooo me! Its a three-colored bag - pink, yellow and purple with an animal print scarf on its handle.  But I still have to pay for this. (it was not FREE, though). I can't wait to use it and the red scarf which was a gift of her colleague from China. Yay!
