A 'Lil Bit of a Change

How is everyone doing?

For the past week, I've been doing a bit of a change on my blog. I no longer put Day# on my blog titles as I stopped working on project 365.  My post becomes every other day or twice/thrice a week unlike before that it has to be everyday. I also started sharing my posts to Google + and TwitterFeed to promote my blog and create more traffic.

I am looking forward to post topics that readers will find interesting.

I caught up a very bad cold but wishing everyone is having a blast as you celebrate the holiday season with friends, family and loved ones!

Baby Names

My best friend's new born baby boy named Caleb. What a cute little angel!

Its too early for me to think about this but I want colors as baby names like Cyan, Tangerine, Amber, Amethyst, Indigo.

Playful weekend!

How was your weekend?

I did hang-out with my nephew and nieces in the playground at the mall. While Mom and Dad were at the supermarket, I was looking after these kids.

I really liked the idea of indoor playgrounds at shopping malls where you can send your kids to play while doing your errands. It is a safe and fun place where kids will surely enjoy!

Inside the polls: Straight or Curly hair.

Do you prefer straight or curly hair?

Couple of days ago, I went to a salon to have my hair re-permed/curled.   I used to have straight hair but  decided to stick to curly hair to suit my big face. My friends told me that permed looks nicer on me. Also, I find it more stylish than straight hair. On the other hand, curly hair requires some effort like twirling and applying styling lotion after bathing, and treatment at least once a month.

Will you change your hairstyle? I would love to hear your thoughts :)

Congratulations to Miss USA Olivia Culpo for taking home the crown of Miss Universe 2012 held in Las Vegas, Nevada last December 19, 2012.

First runner up - Miss Philippines Janine Tugonon 

Second runner up - Miss Venezuela

Third runner up - Miss Australia 

Fourth runner up - Miss Brazil

The Philippines is almost there, hope that next year the crown will be ours. Yay!

Christmas gift ideas

Its 6 days before Christmas!

I was asked to buy gifts for my niece - one as an exchange gift in her class and one for herself. I bought water bottle and a towel for the exchange gift since I have no idea whether its for a boy or a girl. For my niece, I chose clay patterns because she likes to create stuffs out of something.

Any Christmas gift ideas in mind? I would like to hear your thoughts.

Where is your favorite eating place?

My fave resto has opened its new branch in a mall. I prefer to eat here than in fastfoods because their foods are really great at very affordable prices. I love their pizza and pancit lucban!

Day 348: When you go through deep waters...

I will be with you, When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

Day 347: Heart melting scene.

Look at our dogs - they're not even related to each other. I'm not into pets but this makes my heart melts. Awwwwww!

Day 346: Longest tooth cleaning ever!!

I visited a different clinic to have my teeth cleaned. I was not expecting that it would take that long and painful. Ang sakit sa panga! But it was all worth in the end. Sarap ng feeling :)

Basketball - Word that describes the happiness of most young men in our community.

Day 339 - Day 344: Catching up with my blog.

So here am I catching up with my blog. I am few days behind it and now thinking on what to write about. I was at home body mode these days due to my allergy. I cannot do anything when allergy strikes. This is where I struggled a lot - I am the type of person who wants to be doing a lot and completely doing nothing is killing me softly (parang kanta lang). On the other hand, I want to enjoy this time because I know this is temporary.

I do hope everyone is having a great day. Let's be positive and spread positivity around us!

Day 337: "An orange a day keeps the virus away."

Eat orange a day for more vitamin C to beat my allergies.

Day 336: Learnings from the trip.

As promised from my previous blog, I listed below things that I learned in joining my niece's trip.

1. Bring sanitizer / alcohol / wipes / tissue for cleaning purposes.

2. Wear your most comfortable clothes, preferably jeans and a simple top, flats or sandals, no HEELS! Remember that your with a kid and it will be easy to chase after him/her if you're wearing flats.

3. Make sure that you make friends with other guardians/mothers as well.

4. Ask for the teacher's name and contact details in case of emergency.

5. Be extra alert especially when you're in crowded places to avoid loosing your kid. Make sure that you always hold him/her hand or you don't loose sight of your kid.

I was with my niece for one whole day and I did the best I can to make sure that she's safe, clean, eat on time, protected and had fun at the same time. It got me thinking that if I can do these things to her, how much more my Father in heaven? Do I need to worry and be in fear? I think this is the most important lesson that God spoke to me during the trip. He's watching over me and make sure that my needs are provided. Thank You, Jesus!

Day 335: How to beat your allergies?

I would like to share this interesting article from Reader's Digest February 2012 edition about beating allergies. Here's how to use your diet to ease the sneezes:

1. Choose chicken not beef. A study found that people who had the most trans-oleic acid in their diets - a form of mono-unsaturated fat found in red meat and dairy products - were nearly three times as likely to have hay fever as those who ate the least.

2. Eat an orange every morning. They're rich in vitamin C, a natural antihistamine. Some studies link low vitamin C levels with allergies.

3. Avoid monosodium benzoate. A study found that this preservative triggered sneezing and an itchy nose in adults without allergies. Its often found in juices, pickles, olives and salad dressings.

4. Sip green tea. Japanese scientists identified a compound (ECGC) in the brew that blocks a key cell receptor involved in producing an allergic response.

Day 334: Nanny for a day.

It was my niece's field trip. Due to some health reasons, my Mom can't make it and since I am the most available and free person in the world (lol) I have to go with my niece. It excites me because I haven't been to Enchanted Kingdom and Tagaytay. Also, it made me nervous because this comes with a big responsibility for me.

First, we went to a farm and zoo in Tagaytay. My niece loves animals and she really enjoyed seeing them. She likes it especially when the birds were flocking on her hands while feeding them. Then, we headed to Enchanted Kingdom where its even more exciting and fun. Sadly, my phone battery was flat so I was not able to took more photos. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the rides and games there!

It was fun and tiring though joining the trip. There are many things that I learned and some spiritual sinificance which I will blog separately. Grateful to be a part of this exciting adventure.

Day 332: Let's organize cables and wires.

I can't withstand seeing messy computer cables and wires at home so I tied them up with nylon cable ties. What a relief!

Day 331: Hohohohoho!

Christmas is around the corner. How are you preparing for this occasion?

We started putting decorations in the house. These are old decors we used in the past. Since its a yearly celebration, we kept it so we can use them again and save money.

We put up a small christmas tree and christmas lights in the house. Here are some photos I took.

Day 330: New Bingo Game!

A new game played between me and my nephew - Bingo Game! The winner is first player to achieve 4 counters in row in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line. What a challenging game as it allows you to think and strategize before putting those chips / coins.

Day 329: Weekends with Dora and Boots.

How was your weekend?

My sister's family went to our place and had lunch with us. As expected, the house was a blast because of my nephews and nieces who played and fight at the same time. I let them watch Dora and Boots to somehow "calm" the atmosphere. Its a fun and crazy weekend! Glad to have spent time and engage with them.

Day 328: Home School or Not?

Will you send your kids to school or home school them?

It got me thinking while I was teaching my niece on writing alphabets. I was at the bookstore couple of days ago and saw someone from church who randomly told me that she home school her child instead of sending to a learning institution.

Day 325: Love Awareness Day!

Psalm 119:64 : The earth is filled with your love, O Lord, teach me your decrees.

His love never runs out. It never runs dry. Jesus, thank you for Your love that is fresh and new every morning. I received Your love today. 

Day 324: What time is it?

Ecc. 3:1 "There is a TIME for everything and a SEASON for every activity under the heavens."

What season are you into? Whether its a time of sowing seeds or harvesting, be faithful  on whatever season you are into. Never compare yourself to others or get jealous of those who are in  the season of harvesting, rather rejoice with them for your time will also come.

Ecc. 3:11 "He has made everything BEAUTIFUL in its TIME."
